Privacy policy
Your practice stays on your device.
PolyNome LTD provides the standalone PolyNome Speed Test app. This policy describes that app. It covers its local Speed Test features and the result links you choose to share.
Microphone and recordings
With your permission, the app uses microphone audio to detect strokes and record attempts for review. Processing takes place on your device. The standalone app does not automatically upload your recordings or enable PolyNome’s beta diagnostic-upload tools. You can withdraw microphone permission in your device’s Settings; counting and recording will then be unavailable.
Saved results and settings
Scores, notes, exercises, local challenges, participant details and settings are stored in the app’s local container. No account is required. History is separate from PolyNome and does not automatically synchronise between apps or devices. Device backups and restores may include app data, depending on your Apple settings. Apple manages those services under its own privacy terms.
When you share
You choose when to share a result image, recording or link using the available sharing controls. A result link can include the stroke count, duration, exercise or challenge title and optional participant name and Instagram handle. It excludes your private notes and audio recording. Anyone who receives that link can read its included details, so use a display name and information you are comfortable making public.
The result is encoded in the link’s fragment and read by the result page in your browser. It is not a signed or independently verified score. The web host still receives ordinary web requests when someone opens a page; those may include an IP address and browser information in server logs. Sharing services and external websites handle information under their own privacy policies.
Tracking, advertising and payments
The standalone app does not include advertising trackers, advertising identifiers, Firebase Analytics, or an in-app subscription service. Apple processes the app purchase. The app does not receive your payment-card details.
Support messages
If you email support, the information you choose to send, including your email address and any attachments, is used to respond to your request. Avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary to resolve the issue.
Your choices
You can manage saved results and local challenges in the app, control microphone permission in Settings, and choose what you share. Deleting the app removes its local container, subject to Apple’s backup and restore behavior. Copies you have sent to other people or services are controlled separately by those recipients.
Optional performance video
If you choose front or rear camera recording, Drum Speed Test uses the camera alongside microphone stroke detection. Saved video attempts and their review audio stay in the app’s local storage. They are not automatically uploaded to PolyNome or shared publicly. You can delete a video while keeping its result and review audio. Save to Photos adds a separate branded copy to your photo library, which follows your Photos and iCloud Photos settings. Share Video sends an exported copy only through the destination you choose. Deleting a recording in the app does not delete copies already saved to Photos or shared elsewhere.
Optional PolyNome Speed Challenge
Entering the public leaderboard is optional. Unfinished entries remain on your device. Only choosing Enter Speed Challenge with a display name and public social-video link sends your result, exercise, duration, attempt date, stroke timings, charts, app version and a recording reference to PolyNome’s service. No audio or video file is uploaded to our server. Published names, results, charts, dates and video links are public and grouped on a public player page. Choose a display name you are comfortable publishing.
The installation keeps a private player identifier and management credential in the device Keychain; the service stores a hash of that credential. Different apps and devices are not automatically linked. Use the app to edit public details or remove an online entry while keeping your local score and recording. Losing the credential can prevent in-app management; support can help with removal. Cloudflare hosts the service for PolyNome. Published entries remain until removed; legacy server drafts and withdrawn entries expire after 30 days. Minimal opaque identifiers, security hashes and provider logs/backups may remain for abuse prevention and operational retention. Read the Speed Challenge privacy notice and removal help for full details, including social-service video previews.
Contact and changes
For privacy questions or a request about information you have sent to support, contact support@polynome.net. This policy will be updated if the standalone app’s practices change. New services such as online accounts or cloud history would require a corresponding update.
